Equipment for feeding, mixing, size reduction and conveying of catalysts
For catalyst production, specialised process and powder handling equipment is required due to the chemical agents involved, and the manufacturing process used. The manufacturing process involves several process steps in liquid, suspension or solid phase. Gericke supplies equipment mainly for the solid phase, for the impregnation and calcination processes.
Mixing solids with liquids
Gericke continuous or batch mixers can accommodate the characteristics of both the solid support material and the injected solution. Specifications for nitrogen overlay, oxygen purging and corrosion resistance are engineered into the equipment design. The catalyst solution is often sprayed onto the ceramic carrier within the mixers. Gericke offers batch and continuous mixers for this process step. The position of spraying nozzles within the mixer and the applied shear force is optimised to guarantee optimal product quality.
