1. Gericke AG - Data protection policy
Thank you for visiting the websites of the Gericke Group companies and/or their subsidiaries and for your interest in Gericke products and services. The protection of your personal data is important to us, in order that you need not hesitate to use our websites. For this reason, we have established the following data protection policy.

The Internet is generally speaking not a secure environment. You must accept that the Internet is an open network to which everyone has access. Gericke processes personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection law.

1.1 Purpose and scope of this data protection policy
This data protection policy describes what personal data Gericke collects when using its websites, how they are collected and how and for what purposes Gericke can use these data, share them with others or pass them on to third parties. "Personal information" in this data protection policy means information that identifies you, such as your name, email address, postal address or telephone number.

By using Gericke pages, you agree to the collection, use and forwarding of your personal data as described in this data protection policy. If you do not agree to this data protection policy, do not visit any further Gericke pages.

1.2 What personal data are collected?
We collect personal data that you send us, for example, by email or through the registration form. In addition, we collect data on the basis of which we can offer you our services or improve them and which are used to make contact with you, carry out studies or prepare internal reports.

Your personal data is collected when you register on our website (e.g. with the newsletter registration form in the double opt-in prodecure) or when you participate in voluntary customer surveys or competitions, send us comments and feedback or apply for a position on our online job portal and upload your CV.

If you withhold requested personal information, you may not be able to use certain areas, offerings or functions of our pages and your inquiry may not be answered.

When you visit our website, cookies are also stored and information on the use of our website is collected. Please refer to the "Cookies" and "Web Analytics Services/Opt-out Function" sections of this data protection policy for further details.

When you use our websites, certain technical and other information is automatically transmitted from your computer and logged by Gericke, such as the network address, the browser you are using and the page from which you have been redirected. This is for operational and safety reasons and helps us to regulate the use of our websites.

1.3 How do we use your personal data?
Your personal data will be used for the purpose stated in this data protection policy at the time of collection, according to the respective circumstances or in accordance with legal requirements. The data will be used to provide, promote and receive feedback on the quality of our services and to prevent breaches of security or legal requirements or our contractual conditions.

In addition, we may use your personal data to provide you with information about our products or services on request. Your data may also be used to offer you - also by email - products and services that may be of interest to you or to send you information. If you do not wish to receive any further information, please let us know at the following email address: [email protected]

Any communication or material you send to Gericke by email or any other electronic means, including any data, questions, comments, suggestions or similar, will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. You agree that Gericke may use such communications or materials for the purposes set out above.

1.4 Data exchange | Data transmission abroad
As a globally operating company, Gericke may share your data with companies affiliated with Gericke. These companies may only use your personal information for the purposes set out in this data protection policy and must comply with this data protection policy. Your personal data may be disclosed to countries where data protection regulations differ from those in the country of origin.

Your personal data may be passed on to third parties if this is necessary due to applicable law, a legal dispute, a judicial, official or other legal claim or in the course of a legal enforcement, or if the passing on of your data is necessary to support a criminal or judicial investigation or investigation at home or abroad or if there is an overriding interest of Gericke. Your personal data will not be lent or sold to third parties.

Your personal data may also be disclosed to third parties (including abroad) who represent us or who act on our behalf, and they may be processed there in accordance with the original purpose for which they were collected.

Your personal data may be lawfully processed by third parties for the purpose of providing services (e.g. assessment of the use of the pages, marketing, data management or technical support). The use and processing of your personal data by third parties may only take place in the same way as the use and processing by Gericke.

1.5 Links to other websites
This data protection policy only applies to Gericke pages and not to websites of third parties. Our websites may contain links to other websites which may be of interest to you. However, due to the nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee the protection of your personal data on these websites and accept no responsibility for the content of other websites.

This data protection policy does not apply to linked websites that do not originate from Gericke. Always be careful when opening a link to another website and read the data protection policy of that site.

1.6 Cookies
When you visit our pages, data in the form of "cookies" may be stored on your computer. A "cookie" is a small text file that a website stores in your browser's cookie file so that your computer is recognised the next time you visit the page.

When you visit our pages, our server automatically stores your IP address, the website you visited previously and the Internet browser you are using. Information about which pages you visit, when and for how long is also stored. On the basis of this information we can improve the content of our pages as well as compile anonymous statistics on the use of our websites for internal and market research purposes.

However, the use of cookies does not give us your email address or personal data. Cookies cannot execute programs or transmit viruses to your computer. Gericke uses cookies exclusively in compliance with the applicable legislation.

Please specify in your computer settings whether you wish to accept cookies or deactivate them. You can configure your browser to display a message before accepting a cookie, or you can block the storage of cookies. The exact procedure will be described in your browser's manual. However, the deactivation of cookies or tracking tools may result in your not being able to use all functions of our pages or in parts of our pages no longer functioning correctly.

For more information about cookies, see www.allaboutcookies.org or www.aboutcookies.org.

1.7 Social media plug-ins
Social bookmarks (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or LinkedIn) allow users of specific social media platforms to display links to individual Gericke pages on their corresponding social media profiles in order to bookmark them or share them with their social media contacts.

Gericke pages may contain social bookmarks. You can recognise these by the appropriate share buttons. When you open one of our pages, social bookmarks may store cookies on your computer. If you are also a user of a social media platform, the operator of this platform can track which pages you visit, unless you have deactivated the acceptance and storage of cookies in your browser settings.

When you use "Share" buttons on our pages, you will be directed to AddThis and ShareThis pages. We have no control over cookies that AddThis and ShareThis use when you use their services. However, you can reject the setting of these cookies via addthis.com cookies and sharethis.com cookies.

When you use social bookmarks, identifiable information is sent to the appropriate social media platform. Any comments or activities made by persons using these social bookmarks are not controlled or supported by Gericke, and Gericke cannot be held responsible or liable for them.

Persons who share Gericke's content via social bookmarks are not authorised to speak for or on behalf of Gericke. Their views and opinions must be strictly regarded as their own and not Gericke's.
